National and state parks in the United States are home to many beautiful waterfalls. They vary in size, shape, and location, and are a popular attraction for visitors to the parks.
Some examples of national parks with waterfalls include:
- Yosemite National Park in California, home to Yosemite Falls, one of the tallest waterfalls in North America, as well as several other waterfalls such as Bridalveil Fall and Vernal Fall
- Great Smoky Mountains National Park in North Carolina and Tennessee, home to several of them such as Grotto Falls, Laurel Falls, and Ramsey Cascades
- Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona, home to Havasu Falls, a beautiful example located in a remote area of the park that requires a strenuous hike to reach it.
Some examples of state parks with waterfalls include:
- Letchworth State Park, New York, known as the “Grand Canyon of the East”, features the Genesee River, that runs through the park and has several beautiful falls
- Ricketts Glen State Park, Pennsylvania, home to the spectacular Ganoga Falls, the highest of the feature in the park and also several other waterfalls.
- Palouse Falls State Park, Washington, home to Palouse Falls, a 198 ft example on the Palouse River.
It’s worth noting that some of these parks may have restrictions on hiking and other activities in certain areas near the falls for safety reasons. Visitors should always be aware of the park’s safety regulations and follow them for their own safety.
